How do I get my name on the waitlist?
Please submit the waitlist form here. Please keep in mind that there is a huge demand for community gardens plots in Vancouver so if you already have a plot somewhere else, we would prefer that you didn’t apply for a plot here as well.
How do I know if I am on the waitlist?
Once you click submit on the waitlist form, you should see a confirmation message on the page that your submission has been recorded. If you wish to know where you are on the waitlist you can send an email asking us, but please note that it might take us some time to get back to you.
How long is the wait list?
As of March 2018 the wait-list is more than 200 people long. Only a handful of plots become available each year, so if your name was only recently added to the list, it is safe to say that it will be several years before we have a plot for you. We suggest getting in touch with other community gardens in your neighbourhood or starting your own new community garden. Check out the SPEC website for more info on how you can get a garden plot. The SPEC website lists all of the community gardens in Vancouver, provides step by step advice on how to start your own community garden (see Growing Gardens manual) and provides advice on how to share a back yard space.
How do I contact garden board members?
If you would like to contact one of the board members, please send an email addressed to the particular board member to email@example.com.
How do I contact other garden members?
You can join the Google Group we have set up for Pine Street Community Gardens members. Visit http://groups.google.ca/group/pinestreetgarden to sign up.
How do I renew my membership?
Following the Annual General Meeting, usually held in February, you will receive an email or phone call to let you know when the next season’s member fee is due. You should then send a cheque to our mailing address (see above) or arrange to pay cash to a board member no later than the due date. It is very important that the contact information you provided us remains current. If we can not get in touch with you and do not receive payment before the deadline, you will lose your plot.
